As we open applications for our seventh - yes 7th with a 7! - cohort of From Script to PreProduction, we were very lucky to get some wonderful press. Awards Daily ran a story on us and talked about all the wonderful work all our filmmakers are doing. You can read the article here:

Now’s the time to invest in yourself and your narrative feature project. You want to be ready to jump on the opportunities as soon as the world rights itself and the industry gets back to work.
The FS2P lab is now on Zoom and I love how it’s working. The platform makes it so easy to share all the materials we’re creating and to have industry guests stop by to give feedback. And we now have filmmakers participating from all over the world.

My feature POLLY FREED will have its first public read-through as the Opening Event of the New York Indie Theater Film Festival at the New Ohio Theater on February 6, 2020, at 7pm.
I’d love, love, love to share this passion project with you. After more than 15 years as a screenwriter-for hire, this will be my feature debut as a director and I’m beyond devoted to making it happen. POLLY FREED will be produced by Laura Lewis of Rebelle Media and Ro Reddick; it has been developed at New York Stage and Film’s Filmmakers Lab and through NYWIFT’s From Script to Pre-Production. We are hoping to assemble a mostly-female crew as we bring this darkly comic love story to life.
This reading is a crucial step and I’d love for you to be a part of it.

Hope to see you there,

Liza Yntema, a member of our advisory board and a frequent contributor to our FS2P program, has launched an exciting new venture - Dance Data Project, a program to gather and publish data about women in the field of dance, focusing in particular on women choreographers and how often they are commissioned, what they are paid, how often their works are performed and by which dance companies. Brava, Liza!
See the article below for more details.

Brooke Berman's feature comedy Polly Freed (FS2P-2) was selected for this year's Screenwriters Lab at New York Stage & Film. Leche also is one of 15 finalists for the AT&T and Tribeca Untold Stories selection. She has also been selected to participate in the TFI NETWORK presented by AT&T during the Tribeca Film Festival which means her team will participate in Pitch prep and a series of meetings at a financing market hosted by Tribeca.
Clarissa De Los Reyes has been very busy. Meet Claire Solana Payne.
Jamie Ruddy got a job as an experience producer. Her first client is Amazon and she is producing an interactive project for their booth at GDC.
Come party with Polly at Von on Wednesday, September 27 at 7 pm. We're spreading the word and raising money for development.
Jamie Ruddy’s screenplay Bait was a finalist in the Austin Screenplay Contest and made the first big cut for the NYU Production Lab grant. Then made the second interview cut. We’ll see what happens but it’s nice to at least make it through to the final few :)
FS2P threw a Pitch Party on Thursday, February 23. It was graciously hosted by Light Iron – shout out to Megan Marquis for her continued support and generosity to women filmmakers. We were supported by PGA WIN, PGA Diversity Committee, PGA Mentoring Committee, WIP (Women Independent Producers) and Producers from NYWIFT. A packed house heard us talk about the FS2P program and then saw presentations from eight of our filmmakers. The general consensus was that the evening was terrific, that all the films were different and wonderful and everyone wanted to see them get made. A great night for women filmmakers!
FS2P Filmmaker Debra Kirschner has won the Ravenal Grant. Debra will use the funds to help her produce the feature she developed in FS2P-1 - Mallwalkers.
Our third cohort of filmmakers has been selected! Congratulations to Nancy Bannon, Claire Fowler, Erin Greenwell, Suzanne Guacci, Zohar Lavi-Hasson, Gabriella Moses, Jamie Ruddy and Nicole Taylor.
On Friday, May 13th, Light Iron hosted our first reception. Our filmmakers introduced their projects and chatted with board members and invited guests who support From Script to PreProduction. Great evening. Thank you, Light Iron!
